Amankila
Amankila, which means peaceful hill in Sanskrit, is built along the contours of an escarpment between two headlands in eastern Bali. Located near the villages of Candi Dasa and Padang Bai, the resort provides a beach getaway in surroundings of privacy and quiet elegance. Thirty-three free standing luxury suites, elevated to take advantage of scenic views, combine the grace of traditional Balinese material with the elegance of terrazzo, timber and mirrored glass. A system of walkways links the accommodations to the restaurants, pools and beach. The suites consist of three distinct areas. Entrance is from an outdoor terrace that has a large day bed, table and chairs. Sliding doors provide entry to the bedroom with a king-sized bed sitting beneath a carved wooden canopy, writing desk, chairs and a music system. Adjacent is the combined dressing and bathroom with a separate bath, shower, twin vanities, day-bed and storage space. From here, guests have an opportunity to explore the rich Balinese history prevalent in this area of East Bali as well as enjoying swimming, cruising and snorkelling.
